Non-Resident Bhutanese (NRB) would like to express heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their
loved ones because of the barbaric terrorist attack at Pulse Nightclub, Orlando, Florida.
We condemn such heinous, terrorist attack anywhere in the world. Our heart bleeds when it happens in
our newly adopted country, the United States of America.
We consider extremely fortunate to become American citizens and enjoy the rights and privileges that
come with it. Many of us have already realized the American dream—stable job, car, and home—in less
than a decade’s time.
We are thankful to the people and government of America for accepting us in large number when our
own country Bhutan and the neighbors were ignoring our plight. It has been the greatest relief from
uncertain life that we spent more than two decades at UNHCR organized camps in eastern Nepal.
As the American citizens, we will work hard to uphold American values whether here in the United States or overseas countries if there be a need. We inherit rich Gurkha ancestry which has proven record of
Loyalty, integrity, and bravery both in good or bad times.
Long Live the American ethos and generosity!
